Obajimi Adefiranye
Jimi has lived in Brockley ward for 35 years and was for 16 of those its local Councillor. He has worked with young people for over 25 years and has served as a school and college governor.

We are writing to you as your newly elected Labour
representatives for Brockley and Lewisham. It is a great
honour to be elected and to represent this area and its
residents. We intend to fight for your interests and for the
needs of this community.

We now know that the new Tory/Lib Dem Coalition is
introducing much deeper cuts than anything planned by the
previous Labour government. These additional cuts will
have direct local consequences because the majority of
Lewisham Council's funding comes from central government.
We promise you we are not opposing cuts just to score
political points but we will oppose those cuts that are unjust,
unfair or threaten our vital public services. We will also work
tirelessly to make the resources we do have go as far as
possible.

As your Labour representatives we believe in trying to
create a fairer society for all. This is even more important in
difficult times, and we promise we will stand up for you and
fight for the things that matter to you in the months and
years ahead.
