Bowled Over in Sydenham
Lewisham Indoor Bowls Club, based at the Indoor Bowls Centre in Kangley Bridge Road, Sydenham, challenged Lewisham Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Services, Chris Best, together with Labour Councillors Anne Affiku, Stella Jeffrey, Ami Ibitson, Susan Wise and Jacq Paschoud to a competitive but fun friendly bowls match on Saturday 2 April 2011.
With six bowls lanes, provision for bowlers with disabilities including a licenced bar serving hot and cold drinks all day the Indoor Bowls Centre is just one of many sports facilities provided by Lewisham's Labour Council available to members of the public at very reasonable rates. Sporting activity is a priority for Lewisham Labour with two new Leisure Centres at Loampit Vale and Forest Hill currently on site.
